1. How do I register?

2. What are the different registration/race options? Are registration fees refundable?

This 5K is run on a certified race course and timed by Accuchip.  Click here to view course map.
If you are not able to attend but still wish to participate, you can register as a Virtual Runner. (Virtual Runners count as half a runner towards physical education grant totals.) Take a photo of your run and we will send you a race shirt.  
All entry fees are non-transferable and cannot be refunded.

3. How can I start a team? How can I join a team?

During the registration process you have the option to create or join a fundraising team.

During the registration process you have the option to create a fundraising page.

5. What does my fundraising support?

Your participation helps to support Red Apple Supplies, a new free school supply store for high-needs classrooms, career education programs allowing students to excel academically and helps remove obstacles to graduation. Go Teach! Classroom Grants are also awarded to creatively teach in the classrooms as a result of your efforts. 

 6. How can I donate to a Team or Race Participant?
To donate to a team or race participant, Click 'Finda a Team' on the Heroes 5K main page.  Once you have selected the team you wish to support, you can choose from the list of participants and make a donation. 

7. How does my school get credit for my registration?

When you register for the race, click Join an Existing Team. You will be able to search for your school's team and register to be a participant.

8. How does my school win one of the Physical Education Grants?

Physical Education grants will be awarded in several categories:  

$1,000  Top Participating team
$750 Top Participating Elementary School Team
$750 Top Participating Middle School Team
$750 Top Participating High School Team
$500 Fastest Track/Running Club Team from a Middle School*
$500 Fastest Track/Running Club Team from a High School*



 

 

 


Each grant will be awarded to the designated Palm Beach County public school of the registered team(s). Schools. Private and Charters Schools are not eligible. *Fastest Track/Running Club Team Grant will be awareded to the fastest average race time of a three person team (to include one female runner). (Virtual Runners count as half a runner towards physical education grant totals. To join a team, they will need to create a fundraising page and then the option to join a team will appear). Grant winners to be announced during the awards ceremony. 9. Where is the race?  What time does it start? What time should I arrive for the race?

The race is located at Bryant Park, on the corner of Lake Ave. and Golfview  Rd., in Lake Worth, FL. The closest address to the park is 1 Lake Ave., Lake Worth, FL 33460.  Click here for directions.

On race day, please arrive between 6:00am - 7:00am to give yourself plenty of time to pick up your race packet if you have not already done so and warm up before the race. The 5K race will start promptly at 7:30am

Packet pick up will be available race day beginning at 6:00 AM.

Yes, someone else can pick up your packet at early packet pick up but they will need either a copy of their driver's license or their race confirmation.

11. I've signed up to be on a team, why am I not registered for the race?

Make sure you registered on the race registration website. Ensure that you register for the race, then add yourself to a team.

12. Is there parking at race location?

There is free, limited parking in Bryant Park. Free off-the street parking is also available within walking distance of Bryant Park. Be sure to obey local parking regulations.

13. Will there be any refreshments served after the race?

Light refreshments will be provided following the race.

14. Will there be medals awarded? Who receives an event t-shirt? 

All finishers of the 5K and Kids race will receive a finisher's medal as they cross the finish line.
5K and Kids race participants registered for the event will receive a race shirt.

15. Are baby strollers permitted?
You can push a baby stroller but you must start in the back of the pack for the safety of the child as well as other participants.

17. How will the awards be given out? When will the race results be posted?

The awards will be given out by age groups. Age group awards are presented in 5 year increments starting at age 9 and under to age 70 and over in the 5K race. First, second and third place winners will be awarded as well as Overall Winners and Masters for both male and female.

Race results will be posted the morning of the race and updated every five minutes until all runners are finished. Final race results will be posted at AccuChipTiming.com after 2:00pm the day of the race.
